: Passengers' Terminal for Dodekannese Islands, Pireaus Port [built 2003]

This project is a new building, 2.500 -sq.m. The design was adapted to a fairly new development site in Piraeus Port, taking maximum advantage of its location with a new and recognisable form contrasting with the existing, sometimes boring elements. The plan had to confront huge parking areas for trucks + high speed roads. The focal point had to be the passengers, mainly the waiting area inside + outside the building; their views to the port.
The Terminal has a structure of concrete beams + girders, the roof has a self-supporting structure of a double layer trapezoid folded sheet steel.
