Palace Hotel, Southend-on-Sea

The Palace Hotel was one of the grandest Hotels in the South of England prior to World War II,; built in 1904; an iconic landmark at the top of Pier Hill.

Planning Permission was granted to refurbish, restore + extend the Palace Hotel. The scheme entails the retention of the restaurant bar + leisure uses at basement + ground floor. A conference + study centre is to be operated by the University of Essex at first floor level + hotel accommodation on the second to fifth floors.

A two storey extension is proposed on the roof of the building, to provide restaurant space, + a two storey extension is proposed to the east of the building, to provide additional accommodation for the hotel + conference facility.
